FCiências.ID – Associação para a Investigação e Desenvolvimento de Ciências (FC.ID)- PORTUGAL
FCiências.ID – Associação para a Investigação e Desenvolvimento de Ciências (FC.ID) is the project coordinator. It was created in 2017, as a common initiative of 7 Portuguese organizations, including the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Lisbon, with aim to support, enhance and promote research activities of its Associates. Both FC.ID and the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Lisbon are directly involved in SOILdarity.
FC.ID aims at boosting its scientific and innovation capacity and positioning in the European Research framework.
The Faculty of Sciences of the University of Lisbon and carries out all the research, scientific and capacity building activities, and aims at improving its know-how in precision agriculture for soil ecology through the knowledge-transfer activities offered by the other partners.
MIGAL – Galilee Research Institute (Short Name: MIGAL) – ISRAEL
MIGAL Galilee Research Institute Ltd. is a private applied research institute, located in Kiryat Shmona, Israel. At MIGAL, researchers focus on Agrotechnology, Environmental Sciences, Agriculture, nutrition science and Biotechnology. | University of Ghent (UGENT) – BELGIUM
UGent is one of the major Universities in Europe, with 41000 students and 9000 staff. Its faculty of Bioscience Engineering offers academic education, fundamental and applied research and services based on knowledge, production and innovative use of nature and its resources. In SOILdarity, the University’s Precision Soil and Crop Engineering Group (Precision SCoRing) brings in its vision of combining cutting-edge sensors and advanced data fusion and geostatistical modelling approaches with system control technology to optimize farm input at field/sub-field scales for sustainable increase in yield.
The group’s focus areas are: 1) Multi-sensor and data fusion for precision management of farm resources, 2) Modelling the interaction between soil and tools (e.g., for tillage, weeding etc.) and soil and tyre interactions, 3) Reclamation of contaminated land based-on proximal soil sensing of hydrocarbon and heavy metal contamination and 4) Determination and quantification of yield limiting factors based on proximal sensing and satellite imagery.
euknow sprl (EUKNOW) – BELGIUM
euknow is a Research and Innovation Consultancy, working in several industrial sectors, including agriculture, short food supply chain, agricultural mechanisation and biomass value chain. In the last ten years, it has contributed to strengthening the position of its partners in the EU research arena.
